Dr. Bichismita Sahu has completed her master degree in Organic Chemistry from Ravenshaw University, Cuttack, Orissa and PhD from Indian Institute Technology, Bombay (IIT-Bombay) under supervision of Prof. I.N. N Namboothiri. She has extensive experience in PEPTIDE NUCLEIC ACID synthesis from Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh , USA under mentorship of Prof. Danith H. Ly who is the pioneer in Peptide- Nucleic Acid. She is one of the co-inventor PEGylated gammaPNA. She has several years of industrial experience in NCE-Drug Discovery and API. At NIPER-Ahmedabad, her group is actively working towards Peptides, Peptidomimetics, NCEs, Enzyme stable short peptides, polymer-peptide conjugates, functional biopolymers for drug discovery (Cancer, CNS disorder), Novel targeted drug delivery systems and Molecular self-assembly based peptide hydrogel. One of her research interest to mimic Antibody by short peptide fragments. She has published many research articles and inventors/co-inventors of several patents.
